Frequently Asked Questions

  • Sports massage is a hands-on treatment that focuses on muscles and soft tissues to reduce tightness, improve movement, and support recovery. It’s commonly used alongside training or regular physical activity to help the body cope with load and stress.

  • No. Sports massage is suitable for anyone who trains, exercises regularly, or experiences muscle tightness related to activity or daily life. You don’t need to be an athlete to benefit — just active in some way.

  • Your first session will start with a short discussion about your activity levels, any problem areas, and relevant health information. Treatment is then tailored to you using hands-on soft tissue techniques, within my scope of practice. There are no surprises or unnecessary steps.

  • It’s recommended to stay well hydrated in the 24–48 hours leading up to your appointment and to avoid intense training immediately beforehand where possible.

After treatment, it’s normal to experience mild soreness, redness, fatigue, or a light-headed feeling. These are common contra-actions and usually settle within 24–48 hours.

Light activity such as walking is encouraged after your session, while strenuous exercise should be avoided for the remainder of the day.
